Kiefer Sutherland's Tom Kirkman hasn't had much time to adjust to being president on Designated Survivor, but there's so much to be done in his first day in office.
For starters, there's figuring out who is behind the attack on the Capitol. In E! News' exclusive first look at episode two, "The First Day," you'll see new President Kirkman at work in the war room as his advisers help him figure out their first move.
Apparently residue found on the Capitol debris matches explosives used by a terrorist group, but he doesn't necessarily think that's enough evidence to tell the world who was behind the attack. And the FBI is only 75 percent sure of the culprit.
"That's as high as it gets when it comes to something like this," General Cochrane (Kevin McNally) tells Kirkman.
But that's not good enough. "A 75 is still a C on a test, General," President Kirkman responds—but Cochrane shoots back, "This is not a test, this is war."
The president has the last word, though: "All the more reason to get it right, don't you think?"

Wednesday's episode will see President Kirkman sifting through the information available to him among all the chaos and confusion. Next week, Kirkman and his staff will work to keep a high-level security breach at the White House a secret (made all the more difficult by the fact that he's about to give his first television interview), while Agent Wells (Maggie Q) will start to develop her own theory about who was really behind the devastating attack.
