Tonight's all-new episode of Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry was a heartfelt and poignant roller coaster for both Tyler Henry's celebrity clients and us viewers. It was impossible not to be affected by all the emotion as E! News host Maria Menounos, American Idol alum Pia Toscano and Parks and Recreation actress Retta opened up and got personal while connecting with their loved ones who had passed away.
But one of the most unforgettable moments came when Larry Birkhead reunited with ex-girlfriend Anna Nicole Smith who tragically died almost a decade ago when their daughter, Dannielynn, was just a baby. Because of her sudden death, Anna Nicole still had a lot she wanted to communicate to her child's father—and it was a beautiful and moving sentiment.

1. Maria Menounos received closure after a close friend's death: Maria was moved to tears when Tyler connected with a friend named Chiera Michelle who passed away after a battle with breast cancer. The television personality had carried an extreme amount of guilt because she and fiancé Keven Undergaro hadn't been with her when she died. "Keven and I talk about it more often than you would imagine," Maria told Tyler. "We're just like, 'Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Why weren't we there? Why weren't we there? And, it has haunted us."
But Tyler was able to ease some of that self-blame with his message from Chiera. "There wasn't a need to get there in time because that closure was already established, from her end, long before," he said. Maria was relieved. "I didn't think that she would harbor any kind of resentment or anything," she said. "I just have felt, and Keven has felt, such incredible guilt that we just have carried. It makes me feel better about this because she was letting us know that it's all good."
2. Maria connected with her cousin who died in a car accident: "I was really close with him and it really affected me in a big way," she told Tyler. "His death impacted our entire family. We never all talked about it. We all kind of just were numb for a really long time."
Tyler then revealed that her cousin was with her grandma on the other side, which made Maria extremely happy. "I was hoping that maybe she would come through," Maria said. "My grandmother was the greatest on the planet. I don't think any human was more loved than that woman and I don't think any other human loved more than her. She was just an angel."
Maria admitted she had also been haunted by her grandmother's death because she never got the chance to say goodbye in person. But she was comforted to learn that both her grandma and cousin were still around and watching over her. "To be able to connect with my cousin and grandmother meant everything to me," she said. "Just talking it out with Tyler, I've had a little more peace with it."
3. Maria asked Tyler if he sees children in her future: "We've been trying to conceive and that's not been easy," Maria explained. "It just has felt a little discouraging and like it's never going to happen." Although Tyler did in fact foresee it happening, he stressed to Maria that the emphasis right now is on her job. "It doesn't mean that it won't happen," he said. "As of now, I'm just kind of more focused on career, career, career."
"I did IVF and I froze embryos and my thought process was to start trying to implant some of those this year. Is that not a good idea?" she asked. Tyler encouraged her to do it, but said she shouldn't expect results for about three to five years.
Keven admitted that prediction made sense when he joined them both at the end of the reading. "I'm hearing from practitioners and such that we just need to calm things down and that's why three to five years makes sense," he said. "I've heard from so many people, Maria should not be rushing into having a baby because she's been under too much stress."
Overall, Maria felt enormously grateful for the experience with Tyler. "In a way, it removes a lot of fear. It's removed guilt," she said, adding, "It's removed some pain already. I feel a lot lighter and I think that it kind of will allow me to just kind of let the guard down just a little bit."
4. Retta's grandmother offered her words of advice on her career: The comedienne was pleased to hear an encouraging message about her career from her deceased grandma during her reading with Tyler. "As we kind of talk about future opportunities and things along those lines within career, it's coming through very clearly and it's an interesting message of know what you can do [and] know what you can't," Tyler told her. "But I would really emphasize, like, relax, it's going to be alright because I'm referencing to a really strong career solidification."
"My mother always prays 'Let the angels watch over' and now I have an idea of which angel it is," Retta said in response. "I just feel like I do have somebody else in my family that is telling me I am going in the direction I should be going."
5. Pia Toscano freaked out after Tyler discovered her grandpa's number connection: "I felt the individual that would come through today communicates with his loved ones, or individuals that he's connected to, actually through numbers repeating," Tyler said during Pia's session. "Basically, it's the same number everywhere. It's, like, seeing number sequences to an extent that it's almost uncanny."
"I know 100 percent what you're talking about," Pia immediately replied after her initial shock. "It would be the number 13 and October 13 is his birthday. I see this number everywhere since he passed away in the most random ways."
She was ultimately overcome with joy to be able to communicate with her beloved grandfather one more time. "My grandfather was the biggest part of my life. I did everything for him," Pia said. "I just miss the time that we spent together. I wish I could have spent more time with him."
6. Anna Nicole Smith insisted on coming through during Larry Birkhead's reading: "This energy of this younger woman is almost insistent in the way this is coming through," Tyler told him. "I'm seeing a symbol of putting lipstick on a mirror. This is strange. It's a message in lipstick is the way this comes through and it's a symbol, but it's coming through to kind of help convey this individual's personality." Larry didn't immediately let on that it was Anna Nicole, but he was surprised at Tyler's accuracy. "There's no way he would have that," he said. "It kind of blew me away that he knew."
Tyler then shared he was getting a vision of a large, ornate hat that would have a special meaning. He also had to highlight a special significance with the month of May and Kentucky. Larry eventually opened up and confirmed everything made sense. "Well, you kind of hit a few different things," he said. "One was lipstick on a mirror, which was something I used to always do. We used to write messages back and forth. I met my daughter's mother in the month of May in Kentucky with a crazy hat on, like you mentioned, at the Kentucky Derby."
7. Anna Nicole expressed her immense love for Larry: "She feels like on some level you understood some parts of her that other people didn't," Tyler told him. "She really deeply shows this immense joy that you are raising her child and that I think is honestly the strongest message."
Larry listened in silence while Tyler continued to deliver Anna Nicole's emotional message. "One thing I want to communicate really clearly is the place that she had for you in her heart surpassed any other relationships she could have ever had and any other person that could have been in her life. There's an acknowledgement that you are the soulmate regardless of any other people who tried to step forward and act like they're my soulmate. You are the one that has this connection to her and that she feels connected to. All of these other people are just extraneous."
"She didn't really have the full opportunity to be able to obviously say everything that she wanted to say. When she comes through she makes it a point for it to be known how much she loved you and she chooses to really emphasize loved and she shows me a big heart," Tyler added. "She comes through with more appreciation on the other side than she even had in life."
Larry admitted Tyler's words from Anna Nicole helped to ease some of his pain and doubt over how he's raising their daughter. "When Anna passed away, there was so much left unspoken," he said. "We had talked one day and she told me that she had missed me and she told me she loved me and the next thing you know I'm hearing on the news like everybody else that she passed away, but so many things that Tyler said allowed me to have that closure."
