Watch: Jimmy Kimmel Reveals His Plans for Hosting 2016 Emmys

Hollywood's best feud ever continues.

After Jimmy Kimmel lost the award for best variety/talk series to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, he took the stage to smile through the pain while continuing to host the show.

Unfortunately for him, that wasn't going to be all that easy, thanks to the arrival of his greatest nemesis, Matt Damon

"Can I help you? What do you want?" Kimmel asked Damon, who was happily enjoying an apple as he walked out on stage.

"Just calm down, man," Damon told him. "I missed the last category. Did you win?"

Kimmel's dejected face was met with quite a bit of laughter from the crowd.

"That's a bummer," Damon said after Kimmel revealed he lost. "That makes a lot of sense, but you must be really bummed out."

Damon rubbed it in some more by celebrating when he learned that Oliver took home the win.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! They know, I knew," Damon said, pointing to the audience. "I had him in my pool."

"Do you mind if I continue with the show?" Jimmy asked, and it seemed like Damon might have been a little sympathetic.

"Oh, I'm sorry. What am I doing? This is so humilitating," he said. "You lost, and now you have to stand out here for the rest of the night in front of everybody...when you probably just want to go home and curl up and cry. Can we cheer Jimmy up? He's a big loser. Big round of applause!"

Damon tried to make Jimmy feel better with a hug and a round of pity applause, but then he ruined it as he walked off stage and  threw out an, "I'll see you later at the after party."

"There's an after party?!" Jimmy wondered.

Then, as Damon actually left the stage, he threw out one last barb, referring to his snack and the goodie bags supposedly prepared by Jimmy's mom.

"Hey Jimmy, tell your mom I like them apples."

Kimmel and Damon, of course, have been in a fight for as long as we can remember (at least 10 years), and their fight has resulted in some of the greatest gifts TV has ever given us. There was that time Kimmel's then-girlfriend Sarah Silverman made a video called "I'm F--king Matt Damon," and Jimmy countered with, "I'm F--king Ben Affleck."

Then, there was that other time Damon took Kimmel hostage and took over his show, and yet another time when  Damon hitched a ride on Ben Affleck's chest so he could be a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. And of course, Jimmy still ends most shows with, "Apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time."

It was so nice to see that their feud was still alive and kicking, even on the Emmy stage.
