Constantly busy thanks to your incredibly successful TV show and the award season campaign trail and no time to see your family? Be like Mr. Robot star Rami Malek and just bring 'em with you to the awards!
Malek's date to the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, where he's up for his very first Emmy for his role on USA's computer hacker drama, was his cousin. "You're with your family—it's the best way to go through an experience like this," he gushed to E! News' Giuliana Rancic as his cousin looked on with pride.
"I am so proud of him," Malek's well-dressed date, clad in a Marchesa gown, confessed.
But not every member of Malek's family has been so unconditionally supportive. In fact, his twin brother jokingly told him he should probably practice doing a grateful loser face rather than write an acceptance speech.
His response? "I love you too. Thank you."
Malek also took the opportunity to multi-task on the red carpet and show people that his wardrobe is way more adventurous than Elliot's signature hoodie. Would Elliot ever wear a dapper white Dior suit?
"I always wear a hoodie at the airport, and I put it on and somebody snapped a shot of me and I started to think, 'Oh no, they're just going to think I am him,'" he told Giuliana. That's why he loves the Emmys, "an opportunity like this where I'm definitely not Elliot!"
