And the winner is...Jimmy Kimmel?

Ok, not really.

Maggie Smith took home the trophy for Best Supporting Actresses in a Drama Series at the 2016 Emmy Awards for her role playing Violet Crawley in Downton Abbey. Unfortunately, she couldn't make it to the show to accept the award, and since Kimmel was snubbed in the Outstanding Variety Talk category earlier, he figured he'd take it for himself.

"No, no, no!" he interrupted. "We're not mailing this to her. Maggie, if you want this, it will be in the lost and found."

Meanwhile, Smith's victory was a big one as she went up against quite the list of competitors, including: Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Maura Tierney (The Affair) and Constance Zimmer (UnREAL).

Smith has won two Emmys before for her supporting role as Violet Crawley in Downton Abbey, taking home the award in 2011 and 2012, and she was nominated for the role in 2013 and 2014. She also won in 2003 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie after playing Emily Delahunty in My House in Umbria.
