And the 2016 Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Emmy Award winner is…Kate McKinnon!

In a surprise win—even to McKinnon herself! ("I'm shaking, guys," she confessed as she walked up to the mic)—the Saturday Night Live star beat out fellow nominees Niecy Nash (Getting On), Allison Janney (Mom), Judith Light (Transparent), Gaby Hoffmann (Transparent) and Anna Chlumsky (Veep) for the coveted trophy.

Naturally, in her first-ever Emmys acceptance speech she had to thank two of the women who have become her trademark impressions on the long-running late-night show: Hillary Clinton and Ellen DeGeneres

But it wasn't all jokes—McKinnon, who was practically in tears (I'm really crying! I'm not making it up," she cracked), also managed to thank her family for all their support. "Thank you to my beautiful and hilarious mother and sister and my father, who's not with us anymore. He made me start watching SNL when I was 12."

This was McKinnon's fourth nomination for her work on SNL, and she shouted out the series in her speech as well. "It's really hard making 90 minutes of sketch comedy every week for 42 years," she said.

Janney took home the trophy in the category in 2015 and 2014. This was Chlumsky's fourth nomination for her role in Veep and Hoffmann and Nash's second, for Transparent and Getting On respectively. This was Light's first nomination in the category and second Emmy nom overall.

Clinton seemed thrilled at her shout-out, tweeting words of encouragement for her sometime SNL costar (remember the dueling Hillarys from last season?). "Congratulations on your Emmy, Kate! Big fan of yours, too," the presidential candidate tweeted along with an incredibly appropriate GIF.
