Grey's Anatomy is dead to Patrick Dempsey.

The actor, who left the series after 11 seasons last year when his McDreamy character was killed off, says he has no plans to continue watching the show. Season 13 premieres later next Thursday, Sept. 22.

"For me, the first three seasons were the strongest and certainly the pilot and that first season before we knew what was going to happen will always be, I think, the strongest memories for me," Dempsey told me while promoting his new movie Bridget Jones's Baby. "But it's remarkable. It's still doing quite well and will continue to do well."

Asked if he'd like to return to television full time, Dempsey said, "At this point, I'm open to everything."

He says he'll "possibly" appear in a car racing series he's developing for AMC. "It's based on the book called The Limit about the F1 championships in the 1950s and 1960s."

Dempsey admitted, "It's tough to get [professional racing] right. It's more than just the racing. It's what happens after you get out of the car and what is the drama, what is the conflict."

Dempsey has said that he decided to leave Grey's and pull back from his own car racing to help save his marriage and spend more time with his family.

Bridget Jones's Baby is in theaters now.
