Chrissy Teigen is in trouble with the Internet again.

The supermodel has found herself in hot water with Twitter before, and this week she has done it again—this time over salad dressing. It all began when Teigen tweeted about an "oriental dressing" on her flight. "I really really really really clearly am not a PC type of gal but I'm a little weirded out at the oriental dressing option on my flight," she tweeted. "Like, if you're over 50 you can call me oriental to my face but this is a new menu and I'm not a rug."

While her commentary started out OK (in the minds of the Twittersphere), it all took a turn when a user asked her if she found the term "oriental" offensive. "Not offensive, really. Just weird. Old school. Just say Asian," she wrote, adding that her "PC-ness is very lenient."

When users started to disagree with the social media star, Teigen clarified that she found the term outdated despite not being personally insulted by it. "But them saying 'oriental' makes no impact on me. I know that, most of the time, their intention is not to hurt," she continued. "It's not a slur, though. It's just a bit of forgivable ignorance."

The more Teigen tried to clarify her point, the angrier Twitter became. "@chrissyteigen sorry, but they are correct. 'oriental' is pejorative/derogatory when its used to describe people from Asia," responded one user.

"@schubie71 @chrissyteigen I agree, it might not be offensive to her but it's considered offensive to many," responded another. "It perpetuates cultural ignorance."

Never one to stay silent, Teigen tweeted even more of her feelings.

Eventually Teigen chalked up the uproar to a "miscommunication," but continued to reiterate that she was not offended by the term "oriental."

"Do I think saying "oriental" is inappropriate? Yes. Laughable and ignorant. Am I OFFENDED when I hear it? No." she added.

Teigen has been in trouble with Twitter before, having to shut down the haters about an IVF confession she had made, as well as having to defend herself against a sarcastic comment she made about Amber Heard.
