Yes, Nick Viall is the new Bachelor. You did not dream that up. And yes, people are divided on the choice. The Bachelor host Chris Harrison has read your tweets and he's not surprised.

"It just shows how much people love and care about this show and I am very flattered and honored. When you look at social media and it is either the worst decision in the history of mankind or the greatest decision, that's a broad spectrum. You just know people's hearts are in this. They care about the show. I love and respect that, but you cannot please everybody all the time, you just can't. If you try and please everybody, you please nobody in this business," Harrison said on Good Morning America. "At the end of the day, as producers, we've done a pretty good job for 15 years. Trust us, go on this journey with Nick, I think you'll be happy."

Let it be known, this is not a slight to Luke Pell and Chase McNary, Harrison said.

"Ultimately, at the end of the day when we were discussing all of the candidates—and Luke and Chase were on the board—it just got down to the final question of, ‘Who's the most deserving? Who is the most sincere? Who have we watched time and time again really come on the show to find love and just come up short each and every time?' When Good Morning America's Amy Robach questioned Nick's multiple appearance across The Bachelor franchise of shows, Harrison pointed out that Nick has fully given himself to the process of finding love.

"Look, the good news is it's worked for him. He has fallen in love on this show and he has sincerely tried to make it work. Unfortunately, he's just come up a little bit short each time. He's done his part, he will give himself to this process. Again, at the end of the day this wasn't an indictment on Luke or Chase as much as it was more of a compliment to Nick in that he is that sincere guy who really does want to make this work," he said.

And this time there's no competition. Nick is in control.

"I'm sure he's relieved waking up this morning knowing that Josh Murray will not be there beside him to compete for the woman. He's free and clear now. I think being the guy—and then having 25 or 30, I don't know how many women we'll have for The Bachelor this year—but being the guy will definitely help. He's sincere. He will be there, and then to have that many women that are there just to find love—it doesn't guarantee that it's going to work, things can happen on The Bachelor, but it definitely helps his odds dramatically."

Bachelor in Paradise airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
