InstagramAmy Schumer is used to being the center of attention, but over the weekend, the comedienne made sure the spotlight was shining on her friend, Tara Alana. The Emmy-nominated Inside Amy Schumer creator served as a dutiful bridesmaid at Alana's wedding to Rusty Fitton. She wore a strapless blush-colored gown and shared pictures via social media. "Congratulations to @tara_alana and @rustolleum in the best wedding ever," Schumer, 35, wrote in an Instagram caption. "Very proud to be a bmaid."
Schumer attended the wedding with her boyfriend, Chicago-based furniture maker Ben Hanisch. Alana shared a shot similar shot and revealed it was also a special day for Hanisch, captioning the group Instagram shot, "Happy 30th birthday to one of our bestest friends @benhanisch #tarafoundherFITton." Ben, who is also a friend of the bride and groom, shared an photo booth momentMonday, writing, "Two of my best friends got married!!!"
A day before the wedding, Schumer wrapped her untitled mother-daughter comedy with Goldie Hawn in Hawaii. "That's a wrap. Can't express how grateful I am that @officialgoldiehawn said yes," she wrote on Instagram. The feeling was mutual, as Hawn shared an Instagram photo of her own. "Wrapped our film tonight...so emotional," she wrote. "Another light in my life #neverwillsaygoodbye #friendsforever."
Though Schumer's movie may have wrapped, she shows no signs of slowing down. In addition to being nominated for five Emmys (three for Inside Amy Schumer, one for Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo and one for Saturday Night Live), she'll publish her debut memoir, Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo, Tuesday. Schumer spoke about writing the book during her last week on set, telling The Los Angeles Times she kept journals for nine years, starting at age 13. "Like every day was accounted for. What happened. How I felt about it. So ''ve been writing this book since I was 13 and really working on it for four years." The process was "beyond therapeutic," she told the newspaper. "It was really painful and humiliating and empowering. It was really exciting. I made a promise to be honest and authentic. It definitely doesn't paint me in the best light all the time. There's no question it's going to come with some controversy."
