We're seeing double!
Rupert Grint attended a showing of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London Thursday and went backstage afterwards to meet his stage counterpart Paul Thornley. Grint, who played the dimwitted-but-loveable Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, was nothing but smiles when meeting the adult version of his character.
Thornley appeared just as elated to meet Grint, and we have to assume that they made plenty of jokes about using Time-Turners to get to this precise moment.
Grint isn't the only Harry Potter alum to visit the stage version of a character; Emma Watson also has been spotted taking in a showing of the London play. After her visit she also went backstage to meet the stage version of her character Hermione, played by Noma Dumezweni. "It was SO lovely to meet you @MissDumezweni. #Hermiones," Watson tweeted with a picture.
Helena Bonham Carter, who played Bellatrix Lestrange in the movie fanchise, also has been seen snooping around backstage at the West End theater. She took a moment to pose with some of her Slytherin sisters and brothers, but don't worry, they concealed their dark marks.
Now that the Hermiones and Rons have met, when will Danielle Radcliffe, Harry Potter himself, meet his older version?
