R.I.P free streaming Hulu. Is nothing sacred anymore? The subscription service, which has offered a free streaming option since it started nine years ago, is doing away with that portion of their site. The Hollywood Reporter also notes, customers will be alerted to the (tragic, in our opinion) change in the coming days but will be prompted to try out a free trial for their paid service.

Sigh. Let's be real, nobody has time for that. Everyone knows that free trials are traps designed to make you forget that you need to cancel them until a bill for half of your paycheck reminds you. Plus, almost everyone already pays for Netflix and 900 other streaming services, so why would you want to add another bill into the mix? Technically, you won't have to. While Hulu is getting rid of their free content on their site, it turns out you will be able to watch it somewhere else. We know, right?

Here's how it's going to work: Yahoo announced the launch of Yahoo View in a blog post today, which is yet another TV-streaming site you didn't know you needed. Hulu is partnering with Yahoo View, which means you'll be able to watch a handful of their free shows on the new site. In other words, free Hulu isn't necessarily going away; it's just switching platforms. Jess Lee, Vice President of Lifestyles Product at Yahoo, writes in the post, "We've got everything from Scandal to Empire to One Punch Man to Sungkyunkwan Scandal. You can also go beyond the episode with behind-the-scenes extras, recaps, and the best GIFs, photos and edits from the Tumblr fandom community." Alright, fine. We'll check it out.
