Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been dating for a while now, but when the two were first getting to know each other they had to learn all about the other's music.

Shelton, a country crooner, and Stefani, a punk pop rock songstress, come from two very different backgrounds in terms of music, so both stars had to start studying up on the other's repertoire. While appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers Thursday, Shelton revealed that while the No Doubt songstress did, in fact, have to start from square one, he realized he knew more of her work than he thought.

"She genuinely had to like, outside of maybe a couple of songs that I've had, she really had to start learning from the beginning," he said. "She's just not in that world, and I didn't think I knew much of her music until you go to one of her shows."

During one of her concerts it dawned on Shelton that he knew more tracks than he thought...courtesy of her work with No Doubt. Later, while driving to pick up his girlfriend from the airport, Shelton recalled perusing Sirius XM radio when another song came on. At first he thought the voice sounded familiar and soon realized it was Stefani on vocals.

"All the songs? Wow, that was you? That's you?" he recalled to Seth Meyers, "and we've kissed? Wow, that's amazing!"

Shelton still can't believe he is able to call the "Hollaback Girl" his girlfiend. "I think she must have some vision problems," he joked. "Maybe she needs help. I don't know."

Shelton performed on the Today show Friday morning, and while he didn't say much about Gwen, he did mention they spent time together in New York City. The "Came Here to Forget" crooner performed a few songs and joked with the co-anchors that he's most excited to get his hands on some famous New York pizza. When asked how he felt about the cheesy stuff, he joked, "Which chin are you talking to?"
