Fans may not have to wait a long time or travel to a galaxy far, far away for a Star Wars TV show. ABC boss Channing Dungey addressed the prospects of brining Star Wars to television now that Lucasfilm and ABC are both under the Disney banner.

"Oh, as a fan I would absolutely love to say yes," Dungey told reporters about a TV series at the 2016 TCA Summer Press Tour. "We have had conversations with them, we will continue. It would be wonderful to extend that brand into our programming."

Dungey remained mum on the details after the panel ended. "It's all a little bit hush-hush. That company exists under a big shroud of secrecy," she said. "If you feel Marvel is secretive, Lucas takes it to a whole other level."

There's no timeline for getting a Star Wars TV series on network TV, Dungey said the conversations are ongoing.

Rumblings of a Star Wars TV show have been discussed for a long time. The brand already has success in the animated space with Star Wars Rebels, which takes place in the prequels timeline, so what would ABC's project be, live action or animated?

"I can't really talk about it," Dungey told reporters after the panel. "I'm so sorry."

Do you want to see Star Wars come to broadcast TV? What would it even look like? Some free ideas for ABC and Lucasfilm: BB-8 origin story, BB-8 and Chewbacca buddy comedy, Skywalker Family Values (a reality show parody obviously), a murder mystery exploring what happened to Jar Jar Binks…we could go on.
