Things are changing for the guys of One Direction and nobody knows that more than Simon Cowell.

Just a couple of weeks after Liam Payne signed a solo record with Capitol Records in the United Kingdom, Simon is speaking out on where the members are today. As it turns out, he has a lot to say.

"It is a bit annoying if I am honest with you—mainly because it is another label who has now got your artist who you worked with for so many years," the X-Factor U.K. judge shared with The Sun when asked about Liam's new gig. "But that is the music business, unfortunately. I don't think anyone else from the band will do that."

"We had spoken a lot—him and I—about what he wanted to do next. But I guess he read about Harry's deal and thought we weren't interested," he continued. "My impression was that he wasn't in any hurry to make a record because he discussed this last year. He was more into songwriting…Of course there is a part of you that goes, ‘Maybe we should have had the conversation.' That maybe is my fault but it has happened now."

While Simon is staying mum on Niall Horan's possible solo deal with Syco, he supports Harry Styles' decision to stay with Sony and work out of the United States.

"We spoke about this a long time ago and certain artists do prefer to be signed to an American label and he spends a lot of time over here," he explained. "This was something we were very instrumental in and it was the result we all wanted so it was great."

In regards to Louis Tomlinson, many Directorers couldn't get enough when he served as a guest judge on Simon's current show America's Got Talent. As it turns out, his brief appearance made quite the impression on big wigs within the NBC series.

"Louis is a young guy and doing America's Got Talent show was a great experience. The network liked him, the producers liked him," Simon shared. "I wouldn't be surprised if he has been offered a lot of other shows already."

And for loyal fans who just want the guys to get back together, there is still hope. However, there simply isn't a time table for when that special moment will come about.

"I think there would be such an appetite amongst the fans for a reunion, whether it was a tour or a record. They are going to have successful solo careers—that is assured as much as it can be," Simon teased. "They have got to make great records but I reckon they will. I wouldn't rule anything out. With these guys, I left the decisions up to them."
