Here's How Disney Parks Might Be Trying to Track Your Every Move When You Visit

Parks already track you if you use MagicBands, however

Kinda creepy or kinda cool? We're not exactly sure. Disney recently acquired a patent for a method that looks like it will be able to track park goers by their feet, the Orlando Sentinel notes. While there are no plans to start using the system right away, it could work as follows if they decide to go forward. For starters, rides won't be the only spot that will take your picture.

Disneyland and Disney World guests will be ID'd via cameras (and sensors) in order to gather data for the purpose of what appears to be a customized visit. Parks could also use the information gathered to seemingly uncover guest behavior, like which way you trek to get from one ride to the next. Interesting, but is it really necessary?

As of right now, this system looks like it's just part of some company research, which means, if you're freaked out by it, you don't have to worry about it happening just yet. You may never see this program take place, but if Disney decides to go through with it, now you won't be too shocked.

If you're totally appalled by the possibility of being tracked, you should know that the parks already monitor customers who sport MagicBands. All of this may sound a little invasive, but we certainly don't think that's going to stop people from attending the park. Especially if it means missing out on the final days of the Tower of Terror.
