Where there's political smoke, there's bound to be some celebrity fire.

Debra Messing is one of the many famous names endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and she made her stance clear Thursday when she called country crooner Blake Shelton into question.

While speaking to Billboard, the country crooner discussed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his tendency to always speak frankly.

"I'm not going to have the political conversation with you about Trump, or about Hillary Clinton, but I will tell you this: Whether you love him or hate him, he says what he thinks, and he has proven that you don't always have to be so afraid. A lot of people are pulling for him, no matter how much Hollywood fights it," he said. "I see people who don't like him go and beat up people that do like him. You tell me, who's crazy here?"

"I probably wish there was another option, but there's not," he added.

Celebs Endorse Hillary Clinton

While Shelton has not publicly disclosed who he will be voting for come November, the former Will & Grace star misinterpreted his comments to the magazine as an endorsement. She issued a request to the singer's leading lady, Gwen Stefani

"Omg. How? @gwenstefani please talk to your man to not vote for the person who will STRIP you of your rights," Debra tweeted. While Gwen never answered, her beau issued a digital clarification.

"Hey before this gets going like it always does... I haven't enforced ANYBODY for president. And I not going to. I don't do that shit," he tweeted. "My comment about 'wish there was another option but there's not' is across the board...period. Now go dig up another story."

Messing quickly retracted her remark, issuing an apology to the Voice judge and deleting her tweet. "Ok- I regret commenting. My passions got the better of me," she wrote. "Sorry. @gwenstefani @blakeshelton." Shelton accepted, seamlessly avoiding a celebrity spat. "Thank you sis.. I don't endorse anybody. For this very reason!!"

The actress' passion for Clinton was clear Thursday night as she took in the sights and sounds of the Democratic National Convention finale from her seat in the audience alongside Sophia Bush and Connie Britton

"These women make me feel light, happy, and lucky," Messing captioned a candid shot of the trio. "#BadassBabes #dnc #3peasinapod #We'reWithHer"
