Yet another famous face has been added to the already star-studded cast of the highly anticipated sequel of Mary Poppins.

Meryl Streep is said to be in talks to join Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda for Mary Poppins Returns, E! News has learned. Variety was the first to report the casting news.

Should the Oscar-winning actress officially sign onto the project, it would mark her return to working with Into the Woods' Rob Marshall, Marc Platt, and of course, her co-star Blunt.

But that's not all, let's not forget about the fun fact that the two actresses also worked together in The Devil Wears Prada.

So what role is Streep currently in discussions for? According to Variety, she's in talks to play the role of Poppins' cousin, Topsy.

The character would require Streep to sing, similarly to her role in Into the Woods, which doesn't seem to be a challenge that the star shies away from.

Mary Poppins Returns will play in movie theaters on Christmas Day in 2018 (yes, you read that correctly!), so we'll have to sit back and wait and see if Streep does in fact officially join what is sure to be a fun-filled family flick!
