FoxRegan is returning!
E! News has confirmed that Megan Fox has signed on for a major recurring arc on New Girl—but there's a catch.
The actress, who will reprise her role as pharmaceutical rep Reagan in the upcoming sixth season of the Fox sitcom, won't rejoin the series until midseason as she is currently expecting her third child with husband Brian Austin Green.
Fox joined the show in the middle of its fifth season when star Zooey Deschanel was on maternity leave. Her character, Reagan, sublet a room in the loft and struck up a flirtation with Jake Johnson's Nick. Their semi-relationship culminated in the fifth season finale when the bartender followed his new love to New Orleans for a few months to see where their relationship would go.
According to TVLine, which originally reported the news, Fox could return for as many as eight episodes.
Fox and Green have two sons together, Noah and Bodhi. She revealed her third pregnancy in April during a trip to CinemaCon to promote Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
"The pregnancy is really good. I'm happy and healthy," she told E! News' Marc Malkin while promoting the film, which hit theaters in June. At the time, she revealed that she was "so far past" her first trimester. "There are no more cravings," she said.
E! News first reported Fox's third pregnancy after the star appeared at CinemaCon on April 11 with a visible baby bump. She followed up the news with an Instagram featuring photos of costars Will Arnett, Shia LaBeouf and Johnson with the tongue-in-cheek caption "#NotTheFather."
New Girl season six premieres Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8:30 p.m. on Fox.
