Gilmore Girls invoked the name of Amy Schumer in the first trailer for the A Year in the Life, the Netflix revival of the fan-favorite series when Lorelai (Lauren Graham) asked Rory (Alexis Bledel) if she thinks the Emmy-winning star of Inside Amy Schumer would like her.
"Do you think Amy Schumer would like me?" Loreali asked.
"No," Rory quickly replied.
It didn't take long for Schumer to respond.
"I would love her!" Schumer tweeted.
According to Rory, Schumer wouldn't like her mom because of "water sports."
"Every single time I see her on vacation in a magazine she's doing water sports," Rory said.
"Oh no. That would not work at all," Lorelai said.
And Schumer had a response for that as well. "I've only done 2 water sports and they took pictures of it both times. I promise I usually just lay there (sex too)," she tweeted.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will be four parts, each 90-minute one a different season in the year, all of them debuting on Friday, November 25. Forget shopping, ignore the family and return to Stars Hollow. The series stars Graham, Bledel, Kelly Bishop, Scott Patterson, Melissa McCarthy, Liza Weil, Yanic Truesdale, Keiko Agena, Sean Gunn, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia and Matt Czuchry.
