Something's coming.

We'll have to wait until 2017 for full episodes, but we don't have to wait at all for a new look at the fourth season of Sherlock, thanks to the show's panel at San Diego Comic Con.

Stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Amanda Abbington joined executive producers Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat, and Sue Vertue on Sunday morning to debut a brand new trailer for the miniseries.

It features the return of Moriarty and a whole lot of Sherlock looking more worried than we've ever seen him. And that's about it, because that panel wasn't sharing anything.

Is Sherlock Ending With Season 4? Yes? No? Maybe?

While we got very few details about the series, we did get a couple of tidbits. First of all, thinks are getting' serious.

"It's really dark," Abbington revealed. "it's the darkest Steven and Mark have written…If we can pull this off, then it's amazing."

However, that doesn't mean there's no chance of getting to Drunk Sherlock levels of hilarious.

Moffat promised that they never cut jokes, and Cumberbatch promised, "there are moments in this series where it does get looser."

We also got a couple of hints from the producers, who each gave one name to help incent some intrigue: Thatcher, Smith, and Sherrinford (which we still haven't figured out how to spell).

And if you're worried that season four will be the last, there's no reason to be concerned about that yet. Moffat said that they have no idea when the show will end, and would love to continue to bring us more seasons.

Gatiss, of course, addressed the question of more seasons with a cruel joke.

"We can exclusively reveal that there will not be a series five…but there will be a series six."

Sherlock returns to the BBC and PBS in 2017.
