The 2016 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards was filled with tons of legends, including Russell Wilson and Steph Curry...but the biggest legend of the night was certainly Kobe Bryant.

The former Los Angeles Lakers player—who retired from the NBA earlier this year—was honored with the Legend Award. Zendaya presented him with the honorary blimp, and during his acceptance speech, he thanked his family and made sure to leave children with some solid advice.

"It seems like it was yesterday I was your guys' age and I had a dream," he told the audience. "I had ambition for being one of the greatest basketball players of all time. And through hard work and dedication that dream came true."

He continued, "But I want to tell you guys something to be mindful of: when you have a dream, the one thing you need to watch out for are those that are trying to crush your dream. You cannot allow that to happen. That is your biggest challenge. So I challenge you to have your dream, go after it with all you have and be legendary in your own right."

Right after he concluded, he threw his hands in the air and ended is speech in the most perfect way possible: getting slimed in gold—the only appropriate way to slime a legend!

When the basketball star first found out about winning the award in June, he released a statement expressing his gratitude and excitement. "It's an honor to receive Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports Legend Award," Kobe said at the time. "This is a great opportunity to inspire kids to never lose their imaginations and to dream bigger than what they think is possible. If you stay true to that, the hard work, dedication and success will always follow."

Meanwhile, Kobe, his pregnant wife, Vanessa, and his two daughters, Gianna and Natalia, also joined him on the carpet before the show. The girls looked absolute ecstatic to be standing with their daddy, looking like his spit image while smiling from ear-to-ear and posing for photos.

And now we can look forward to another one! Just last week, the couple announced they are expecting their third child, a baby girl. The mama-of-three-to-be took to Instagram to announce the happy news.

"Beyond blessed and excited to share that we are expecting our third baby girl!!! #blessed #babymamba #thankful," the 34-year-old wrote alongside an adorable onesie and baby sneakers. After Vanessa made her account private, Kobe shared the same picture and caption on his own account.
