Russell Wilson fulfilled his hosting duties—and then some—at Nickelodeon's 2016 Kids' Choice Sports Awards.
The night was filled with many memorable moments, including Kobe Bryant getting covered with gold slime after Zendaya presented him with the Legend Award, but it was Russell that really made the show a huge success. For the second year in a row, he made it entertaining for the kids and adults by pulling out all the stops. Like what, you ask? Well...
He Dressed Like a Grandma for a Dance-Off With Ciara: Yep, that happened. First, though, Ciara and her adorable squad of kid dancers faced off with Rob Gronkowski and his pint-sized crew. They all had some serious moves, but things really got fun when Grandma Wilson (aka Russell in a wig, dress and sweater set) came out wearing a wig and dress. Even Ciara couldn't help but laugh at her incognito hubs!
He Got Slimed: Because, come on, what kind of Nickelodeon show would this be if he didn't get slimed? This magic moment was courtesy of LeBron James, actually. The Cleveland Cavaliers star couldn't be at the Nickelodeon show in person to accept his award for Best Male Athlete, but when he accepted via satellite, he made sure to tell the sliming powers that be that Russell should be slimed instead! The newlywed NFL champ, of course, was totally game to get covered in green.
He Was a Good Sport: Russell was flattered to accept the Best Cannon award, and he was quick to thank the fans who voted for him. He also admitted he thought Serena Williams would've won over him! He was a good sport again later, too, when he faced off with "Gronk" in a challenge—Russell lost by mere seconds, but he sure wasn't a sore loser! He enthusiastically congratulated his fellow athlete and was all smiles as he introduced the next segment.
He Was as Uplifting as Ever: Russell's charm wasn't lost on the kids! Whether he was encouraging a young athlete through one of Nickelodeon's $50,000 challenges or just throwing to camera with kids all around him, it was clear that Russell was in his element. He had a grin on his face throughout the entire show (yes, even after he was slimed), and his sign-off couldn't have been any kinder. "Kids you are the next generation," he said sincerely. "Keep believing, keep dreaming, keep going to school...Nickelodeon, I'm out!"
