Another day, another person added as an official replacement for Michael Strahan on Live! With Kelly and Michael.
Although there have been rumors swirling basically since the NFL star left the morning show for Good Morning America full-time, it seems that there are some names that continuously get mentioned in the rumor mill. The latest name to be thrown into the mix is Nascar driver Jeff Gordon, who said in June that he would enjoy being Kelly Ripa's co-host.
"I had a great time co-hosting on that show, and I certainly would welcome it. My priority is Fox and Fox Sports and NASCAR," Gordon said in June. "If there was something that would fit into and around that, great."
Fred Savage, who also has appeared as Kelly's onscreen partner, also further churned the rumor mill when he revealed to ET that he had dinner with Live! executive Art Moore. "No, this is just I'm coming in town with my family, they're meeting me here, we're taking vacation in New York, so the timing worked out," he shared with ET. "Whenever they call, I love to come do it. It's always a lot of fun."
"I enjoy it so much. I love interacting with the audience. I love sitting beside Kelly—to work with someone who's just at the top of her field is a thrill, so it's all enjoyable."
The West Wing alum Rob Lowe has also been mentioned in the ongoing discussions. Before Strahan was officially hired, Lowe was a conteder. Now, it seems, he's one again. "My kids are out of the house, they weren't then. Who knows...But listen, man, I don't want to go up against Anderson Cooper," he said in an interview. "I don't know if I'm going to go back as an actual guest host yet...You never know! You never know."
And speaking of Cooper, he's also rumored to be joining Live!. The BFFs have co-hosted together a couple of times, and the CNN host even called the possibility a "dream," but nothing has been set in stone.
A rep for the show would not comment on any co-host rumors, so we'll just have to wait to see who the frontrunner is when it gets announced later.
