Don't underestimate the power of a new Fast & Furious team member.
As anticipation grows for the franchise's eighth movie, Tyrese Gibson is giving fans a tease of what they can expect with some new faces joining the crew.
If you're wondering about Charlize Theron's role in the movie, let's just say she's leaving quite the positive impression.
"I can tell you Charlize really came into this thing and set the tone for all of us. I often like to think of us as a franchise team and you get a new player to come in and they're killing it and we like, we got to step," he told E! News exclusively at McDonald's Bounce Brunch inside the Essence Festival. "Charlize really elevated us on an inspiration level."
He continued, "The overall scope of the movie is much bigger and more significant than it's ever been. We're really proud of it."
When cameras weren't rolling, the totally single Tyrese was able to bond with Charlize over parenting. In fact, phone numbers may have been exchanged for a future kids play date.
"I got Charlize's cell phone number. I was flirting with her a little bit," he admitted to E! News. "I got the cell phone number. We're trying to get the kids together, have a little fun…She's sweet."
While the flirting is all in good fun, E! News couldn't help but ask what Tyrese looks for in a leading lady. Something tells us Charlize would fit many of these requirements.
"I love a sweet woman with a lot of confidence," he shared. "I love a woman that can walk in a room and everyone notices. I love it. Education, smart, spiritual, I could be here for another 45 minutes if you want."
Relationships aside, Tyrese remains focused on making a new album while also delivering on the big screen in the latest Fast movie. And as the cast and crew continue perfecting scenes and moments, the actor assures fans that the late Paul Walker remains on their minds.
"We moving at this point on behalf of [Paul]. I've said it a million times, Paul was never a selfish person so he would have never said if anything ever happened to me or any of us individually, the movies should stop," he explained before the film's tentative release date of April 14, 2017. "It's always been a collective energy, collective family oriented vibe. So we're moving at this point on behalf of his family as well as him and that's our inspiration."
He added, "This is going to be the heaviest story line that we've ever had in the history of the franchise."
