Both Iggy Azalea and Taylor Swift are going through highly public splits. The Australian rapper called off her engagement from Nick Young about a week ago after informing fans that she was "unable to" rebuild her trust. Young was caught in a cheating scandal in March, and Thursday morning Iggy revealed on Twitter that she caught him by looking at security camera footage.
T. Swift, on the other hand, is in an entirely different situation. She and Calvin Harris broke up about a month ago. It seemed amicable at the time; Calvin posted a touching tweet, which the "Style" songstress ended up retweeting, but soon enough that would go away. Two weeks after Tayvin called it quits, photos of her and Tom Hiddleston making out on a beach in Rhode Island surfaced, and all cordiality dissipated. Since then Taylor and Tom have been on a PDA world tour, taking their love from Rhode Island to Nashville, stopping over England and ultimately Rome, where they would kiss, hold hands and more at the Coliseum.
Two very situations, and two very different ways of handling breakups.
As soon as everything went down with Nick, whether it was the initial March scandal or officially calling off their wedding, Iggy went straight to social media. She announced the news on Instagram, writing, "Unfortunately, although I love Nick and I have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him—It's become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to. I genuinely wish Nick the best."
While friendly with a side of shade, Iggy quickly changed tone after rumors began to swirl that Nick impregnated his ex-girlfriend Keonna Green. "This is just like a second shot to the chest. And I feel like I don't even know who the hell it is I've been loving all this time.
"People in this world are really f--ked up," she finished.
The "Fancy" rapper is all about clearing the air herself in a public forum.
Taylor, on the other hand, hasn't said a peep since retweeting Calvin's now-deleted statement regarding their relationship. On Instagram, she's shared photos of a wedding and a touching tribute to victims of the Orlando shooting. Based on social media, T. Swift doesn't even appear to be in a relationship! But in the real world, Taylor obviously moved on with The Night Manager actor. Calvin who? One might ask.
So while T. Swift is certainly quiet in a literal sense—not talking about her breakup—she is being loud when it comes to moving on.
