We didn't see this powerful connection, until the actress pointed it out.

It's been 20 years in the making, when Eva Longoria moved to Los Angeles she walked on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and vowed to one day have a star of her own. Well, she got it!

Yesterday, they announced the celebrities that will be given their own stars in 2017 and the Telenovela star made the list of future honorees.

Longoria took to her Snapchat to announce the news to her fans in a very nonchalant manner, "Oh my God, you guys, I forgot to tell you…I'm getting a star!"

She continued, "and I'm so excited about it. I've dreamt of this day my whole life. This is so exciting. And I just couldn't wait to tell you guys, I'm on a plane right now, and I'm getting a star with Selena Quintanilla."

This is a big deal for Longoria, because both stars share almost identical roots. "With her, she was also selected, and she's from Corpus Christi like I am," she said. "So we're two Texas girls from the same hometown getting a star."

Fans rejoiced at the news of Selena receiving a star 21 years after her death. The Grammy Award winning singer was shot and killed by the president of her first fan club in 1995. She was 23.

I could never have dreamed that one day I would receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But even more ironic is that the same year I receive my star, so does my idol, my inspiration, my fellow Tejana, my fellow Corpus Christi native, Selena Quintanilla. She was the reason I even dared to dream that a better life was possible. And that that life didn't have to distance you from where you came from. So many people become famous and leave a place without ever crediting it with the role it played in shaping their lives. Selena was proud of being from Corpus Christi, Texas. And that made me proud to be from Corpus. She blazed the way for all of us and I will be forever grateful to her for not only that but for the pure joy I felt when I got to see her perform. Her smile, her charisma, her beauty put every single person who watched her under a spell. Thank you Selena. I know I will receive my star on the Walk of Fame because you dared to dream it first. ???

Longoria then shared this touching post on Instagram, of herself and the Bidi Bidi Bom Bom singer, "I could never have dreamed that one day I would receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But even more ironic is that the same year I receive my star, so does my idol, my inspiration, my fellow Tejana, my fellow Corpus Christi native, Selena Quintanilla. She was the reason I even dared to dream that a better life was possible. And that that life didn't have to distance you from where you came from," she said. "So many people become famous and leave a place without ever crediting it with the role it played in shaping their lives. Selena was proud of being from Corpus Christi, Texas. She continued, "She blazed the way for all of us and I will be forever grateful to her for not only that but for the pure joy I felt when I got to see her perform. Once Longoria shared the connection, we felt all sorts of fuzzy feelings inside. If you take a step back, you realize that this recognition will mean a lot to so many different people. The people of Corpus Christi will be having a double celebration next year.

These are two Latinas that have helped paved the way for many, and that's quite an accomplishment in itself.
