UPDATE: While we still have no idea what the mysterious sixth installment will be about, we at least know when it'll air. FX has announced that American Horror Story will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m.

________

It feels like it's been ages since we've heard anything about the upcoming sixth installment of American Horror Story, but that all changes today.

Not only have the social media accounts for the show changed their profile pictures to a cryptic red numeral six-question mark hybrid, but another member of Ryan Murphy's repertoire has confirmed their involvement in the new season. Cheyenne Jackson, AHS: Hotel's Will Drake, revealed in an interview with OUT that he'll be back. What's more—according to Jackson, filming is already underway.

While discussing the possibility of a tour to support his new album, Jackson revealed, "Right now, we're shooting Horror Story. I won't be able to promote the album ‘till we're done, by the end of the year."

When asked if the new season would be even darker than the five prior, Jackson played it close to the vest. "Just different. You'll see," he teased. "Wild horses wouldn't make me reveal the plot."

With the plot kept tightly under wraps, we do have a few morsels of information to consider. We know that Jackson will be joined by Angela Bassett and Lady Gaga, though the latter's involvement probably won't be as intense as it was in Hotel. "I can't promise you how or when, or anything like that," she told Z100's Elvis Duran after confirming her return.

Beyond that, look for the show to once again include some creepy kids following Hotel's coterie of vampire children. In March, Murphy revealed to fans at the PaleyFest event for Hotel, "If you look at horror tropes, the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world is always very dramatic and satisfying." During that same panel, he also let slip that the show will be tackling a new format.

"We've been working on two ideas at once, which we've never done, so I don't want to say what it is," Murphy told the crowd. "But...it will have a different form than we've ever done."
