In the nail-biting final chapter of the season, viewers finally learned Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) parentage. He is not Ned Stark's son after all, but his nephew. He's a Stark, sure, but the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Only Bran Stark knows this truth, but you know, he's out there in the wild while Jon Snow was named King of the North with Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) at his side…a little peeved.
"Thrones is really, at the heart of it, about dysfunctional families," Harington said in the video below.
You can say that again.
Yes, Sansa and Jon took back Winterfell and Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) is no more, but the two of them have some unspoken problems. Jon asked Sansa to trust him, but he's really not listening to her.
"I think Jon is oblivious. He hasn't actually learned his lesson from actually trying to pay attention to what she's feeling," Harington said about the problems that await Sansa and Jon. "He says he has, but he's asking her to trust him. He's not listening and watching and observing her. I think that could be a real problem for him."
Liam Cunningham, Davos Seaworth, said Jon is the right many for the job because he'll be "decent and honorable."
"I think he's definitely entitled to be running Winterfell, although Sansa may have a problem with that I fear," Cunningham said. "Her relationship with Jon Snow, I think, is an indication of what's going to come and I'm not sure it's going to be pretty."
Sansa Stark gets no respect.
"He's named King in the North and she gets no credit for it. Jon doesn't acknowledge everything his sister has done for him, after all of they've been. It's not like she's looking for praise or anything, she did it because she wants revenge and also wants her home back. Jon, he's so naïve, so Sansa's just a little bit agitated is all," Turner said with a laugh.
