The singer, 48, and the rapper, 47, made their public debut as a couple at the 2016 BET Awards, where they posed for photos together inside L.A.'s Microsoft Theater. Birdman was on hand to present an award with Snoop Dogg, 44, and Jermaine Dupri, 43. Asked about his relationship with Toni, Birdman told People, "We're just chillin'." Toni's rep later confirmed they are dating.
Toni's mother, Evelyn Braxton, sang Birdman's praises last week.
While promoting the WE TV program Braxton Family Values on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, Evelyn was asked about her daughter's new boyfriend. "I think he is a nice man," the 68-year-old said. "I don't care what others say about him. He is a nice man. He is full of respect."
Toni and Birdman first collaborated 14 years ago on the song "Baby You Can Do It," and that's when Evelyn was introduced. "Ever since I've been knowing that man, he's been phenomenal."
Toni was first linked to the Cash Money Records co-founder in May. The "Unbreak My Heart" singer was previously wed to Keri Lewis. The exes, who have two sons together, split in 2013.
