The Internet doesn't always protect its own.

Ahead of VidCon, Jimmy Kimmel assembled some of the most popular content creators from all over the internet to read "Mean Tweets" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday. The recurring segment featured popular YouTube stars like Tyler Oakley, Grace Helbig, Michael Stevens, Lilly Singh and Kingsley. Many responded to the insults, including Mamrie Hart, who was told to "eat a d--k." Rather than ignore it, she feigned an apology and joked, "Sorry, I had a big lunch."

Many of the tweets were filled with typos. One in particular—"This guy Jus Reign who makes vines and s--t is not even funny some dead youte with some dead videos non of his videos has popped quit"—prompted him to tell the show's producers, "I think this guy's having a stroke."

Not even VidCon founders Hank Green and John Green could escape the Internet's cruelty. "I stumbled upon a Hank Green video," a hater tweeted, which Hank read aloud. "And it was the most annoying thing I have ever clicked on. And I thought his brother was a douche."

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs weeknights at 11:35 on ABC.
