Jon Gosselin is not one to mince words, and he's got a lot to say.

The former TLC reality star turned DJ, and father of eight, didn't hold back when he gave an update on his relationship with ex-wife Kate Gosselin and the relationship he has with their children, and unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be good.

During a lengthy interview with Yahoo, the 39-year-old Jon & Kate Plus 8 star says that his correspondence with Kate, who filed for divorce seven years ago today, is practically nonexistent, and despite having a custody agreement which includes weekly dinners and overnights every other weekend, he still has problems seeing his eight children, because Gosselin states that he can only see four of his kids at a time.

In fact, Jon says because of that, he hasn't seen 12-year-old Colin in a year and a half. "I can't do anything," he said. "It's unfair of her to do that, considering she claims that she does her best for all my kids. Dah, dah, dah, drama. ‘I'm perfect.' No one's perfect, honey. Trust me."

He continued, "Now all the secrets are coming out because I'm not afraid to say anything. ‘How come you only get four kids?' Because who I get is who I get. Whoever comes through that gate or gets off that [school] bus is who I get. And Collin is home-schooled, so he doesn't get off a bus."

Regardless, Gosselin explained that he's trying to do the best he can. "If the kids want to come, they come. I love them all, but I am going to focus on the ones that want to come. My hands are tied."

Jon simply states that the situation with Kate and their children is "bad right now," and notes that it's "time to go back to court," but there's a problem—money.

"People are always like, ‘Oh, I would fight so hard [for a better custody arrangement].' I'm like, ‘Honey, you don't have the money to fight that hard. Do you know how expensive court is? You have no idea.' All the filings—and I do my own filings, then submit them to a law firm for stamp of approval—I have to pay for that. And pay all the court fees in the hopes that you'll get something out of it. I've been going to court for seven years now. Unless you can arbitrate out of it and have a working relationship with the other parent, you're going to spend a lot of money."

And it's no secret that a working relationship is not the case between Jon and Kate. Gosselin states that he doesn't even communicate with his children when they're with their mother. "They don't [text me] from [Kate's] home. I have no contact with them [when they're there]," adding, "I'm hoping they're at school today. I just have to trust that everything is going OK."

Jon also shared that when his family is busy shooting their reality show Kate Plus 8, he isn't told where the kids are. "She pulls custody BS, like, ‘Oh, you don't have custody this week. We're filming.' But she won't tell me where they're filming," and said he resorts to Twitter to get a clue on where they are by searching #kategosselinsighting.
