Some reports suggested she was dodging her deposition and had lied about having a fitting for The Justice League in London to avoid taking the stand.
However, a source tells E! News the 30-year-old is more than "willing and ready to be deposed" and the reason the deposition was delayed was simply due to court procedure.
Depp's attorney, Laura Wasser, had filed the request for Heard to be deposed before the June 17 trial, on June 10. However, she only filed 9 days before ahead of the June 10 deposition, and since the court requires 10 days notice, it was deemed invalid. Wasser then filed for an emergency deposition, but the court ruled there were no grounds to do so and it was denied again. Following that, Wasser filed for a continuance for the trial that was originally scheduled on June 17, which was granted. The trial will now occur on August 15, but the deposition has not been rescheduled.
"Amber and witnesses were ready to go to court on June 17 and testify under oath and tell the truth," the source said.
The insider also tells us both Depp's and Heard's teams have been talking about settlements outside the court but reiterates the fact that "Amber is not in it for the money."
In fact, that's something Heard has made sure to negate, going as far as retracting her request for spousal support.
In the court documents we obtained regarding her withdrawal last week, Heard said believes her request for $50,000 a month in spousal support was being "used against me to distract and divert the public away from the very serious real issue of domestic violence."
Thus, she retracted it. "In light of the coordinated false and negative media campaign falsely depicting my attempts to attain a CLETS Domestic Violence Restraining Order as being financially motivated, I am hereby withdrawing the request…for spousal support," she said.
Less than a week after filing for divorce from Depp last month, Heard filed a domestic violence restraining order against him, which was subsequently granted.
The following day, photos were released of the actress with bruises on her face and a cut on her lip. According to a source close to Amber, the injuries occurred last December when Johnny allegedly attempted to injure his wife with a pillow.
In the court documents for the restraining order, Heard said that her estranged husband has "been on a downward spiral for a few months" and has "battled with substance abuse for quite some time."
Now, Heard is waiting to take the stand and testify against Depp in order to obtain a permanent restraining order.
While Depp has not directly addressed the accusations made by Heard, his rep released a statement shortly after the couple filed for divorce.
"Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life," his rep shared with E! News. "Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."
