You'll probably recognize the newest NCIS agent: Wilmer Valderrama is joining the long-running CBS drama as a series regular for its upcoming fourteenth season.
The actor will play an NCIS field agent who disappeared after accepting a deep cover assignment many years ago. In fact, many agents don't even know that he's still on the job—or whether he's even alive. When he resurfaces, he'll be as dedicated to his job and country as ever, but after his years-long assignment he'll become an unpredictable, charismatic loose cannon.
Says executive producer Gary Glasberg in a statement, "Wilmer Valderrama will be able to flex his dramatic, physical and comedic talents in this classic NCIS role. Fans are going to see him like they've never seen him before. This is going to be fun. We're thrilled he's coming aboard."
Valderrama recently wrapped an arc on Grey's Anatomy and starred in Fox's short-lived TV reboot of Minority Report, along with other TV credits including From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series and, of course, his breakout role in That ‘70s Show. He and longtime girlfriend Demi Lovato recently split after nearly six years of dating.
NCIS is still reeling from the exit of star Michael Weatherly, who left the series in the emotional season 13 finale that gave fans a bittersweet conclusion to the up-and-down relationship between his character, Tony DiNozzo, and Cote de Pablo's Ziva David. NCIS stars Mark Harmon, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, Rocky Carroll, Emily Wickersham, Brian Dietzen and David McCallum.
NCIS returns to CBS this fall.
