It may not be your first inclination to parade around in your suede staples this summer, but the weighty fabric is, in fact, quite ideal for this time of year.

Don't get us wrong: It can be a bit of a balancing act trying to figure out how to style it in a casual summery way like Emily Ratajkowski or Jamie Chung. For warm weather, avoid teaming it with other heavy textures, like velvet or leather, which sounds like a heat stroke waiting to happen. Instead pair suede pieces with your most seasonable separates (think light-weight silks, chiffons and other breathable fabrics) and, we swear, you'll be the most polished of the bunch.

If you're wearing skirts in the summer, they are probably a little shorter and a little more casual (we see you, denim mini). However, if you're off to an occasion that's a smidgen more formal, like a bridal luncheon or a baby shower, a longer midi-suede number puts a classy spin on your look. Just keep everything else light and delicate, like Emily's silk spaghetti strap, strappy sandals and gold jewelry.

Wearing full-on suede in the summer can seem a bit overbearing, but not when you keep it simple like Jourdan Dunn. Since a camel dress is all there is to this killer outfit, let the luxe fabric do all of the talking. All you need are some rad gladiator sandals and wire-rim frames that don't compete but are unique enough to keep the look from reading as generic.

You probably already own a pair of traditional suede booties, after all they basically go with everything, no matter the season. For a summer-specific take on suede footwear, swoop up a hybrid bootie that will show off your pedicure. A pair like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's lace-up ones will add a touch of luxury to your otherwise simple summer uniform.

Most of your shorts-wearing-moments are probably going to consist of denim cutoffs this season, but what if you want to jazz it up for a dinner? Shorts as eveningwear can work (particularly during summer), but you just have to be strategic. To execute properly, pick a suede pair in a slightly longer length like Jamie Chung's. A romantic off-the-shoulder top in a soft pastel feels a bit more formal than a T-shirt and black heels solidify the nighttime vibe.
