Stranger Things are coming to Netflix, and we mean a show called Stranger Things, not something stranger than a show called Scrotal Recall.

The 1980s-set series chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes under extremely suspicious circumstances. Winona Ryder stars as his mother Joyce Byers. Her character opens up an investigation into his disappearance that begins to unravel mysteries and top-secret government experiments. At the heart of it all are supernatural forces (duh) and a "very strange little girl," Netflix promises.

Described as a "love letter to the ubiquitous cult classics of the 80's, Stranger Things is a coming of age story for three boys that draws this quaint community into a world where mysteries lurk beneath the surface," according to Netflix.

Matthew Modine, David Harbour, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Millie Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo and Cara Buono also star in the series set in Hawkins, Indiana.

Stranger Things debuts on Netflix on Friday, July 15.
