Charles Barkley was a high scorer playing hoops for the Phoenix Suns, but now he's in trouble for allegedly taking a few too many foul shots before getting behind the wheel.

The NBA Hall of Famer turned Emmy-winning analyst was pulled over for running a stop sign around 1:30 a.m. in Scottsdale, Ariz., police confirm to E! News. According to the incident report, Lt. Eric Shuhandler sensed alcohol on Barkley's breath and administered standard field sobriety tests.

Barkley was arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving and his 2005 Infiniti was impounded. Sir Charles received a blood test and was cited and released.

"He was cooperative and respectful during the entire incident," Shuhandler said.

Barkley won an Emmy for hosting TNT's NBA coverage and has been making noise about running for governor of his native Alabama in 2014.
