David Bowie is and always will be in Iman's heart.
On the couple's 24th wedding anniversary, the model took to Instagram to commemorate the special milestone with a heartfelt post.
"June 6th....24th wedding anniversary #foreverlove," she wrote with a throwback photo of the pair posing for a photo near the ocean blue water. While embracing each other with a hug, additional text was placed over the image with the powerful quote, "The best thing about me is you."
The Hollywood couple got married back in 1992 and welcomed a daughter in 2000. Sadly, after a private 18-month battle with cancer, David passed away in January at age 69.
While many fans will remember the singer for his No. 1 hits and unforgettable fashion, Iman recently shared personal memories of her husband on Oprah: Where Are They Now?
"We both understand the difference between the person and the persona," she explained. "When we are home, we are just Iman and David. We're not anybody else."
She continued, "You have to be at the right time of your life that you're ready for an everlasting relationship, that it becomes a first priority in your life. If your career is important to you, don't get married and have children, because something will give. I know as women we want to be able to have it all, but we can't have it all at the same time. So, make your priority of what you want at that time."
Since her husband's death, Iman has tried her best to mourn in private. Along the way, she's been able to pay tribute to her partner in a few unforgettable posts and fashion statements.
"As I always said: I fell in love with David Jones [Bowie's birth name]," she once told The Guardian. "I did not fall in love with David Bowie. Bowie is just a persona. He's a singer, an entertainer. David Jones is a man I met."
Happy anniversary to a couple we still can't help but look up to.
