Demi Lovato Gets Into Fighting Spirit in First Appearance Since Wilmer Valderrama Breakup

Demi Lovato appeared to be in good spirits Saturday night as she attended a UFC event, marking her first appearance since she and Wilmer Valderrama announced a day earlier they had split.

The 23-year-old pop star and the 36-year-old That '70s Show alum announced on Instagram Friday afternoon that they had ended their relationship after almost six "loving and wonderful years together," adding, "we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends."

Lovato was photographed at the UFC 199 event at The Forum in Los Angeles, sitting cageside with a friend and her mother, Dianna De La Garza. The singer, a big UFC fan, wore a shiny, silver cropped jacket over a black top.

Behind them sat MMA fighter and recent Dancing With the Stars finalist Paige VanZant, 22. The singer posted a selfie of the two on her Snapchat, captioning it, "My new friend Paige!"

"Highlight of my evening @ddlovato," VanZant wrote on Instagram.

The singer was shown during the broadcast and waved, smiling. She was also spotted smiling occasionally while watching the fights. Lovato also took time to snap photos with fans.

Hours before the event, Lovato posted some artistic black and white videos on Snapchat, showing pigs sniffing as well as views from a tall building in Hollywood.

"New day," she wrote.
