You don't own them!

Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother) and Megan Hilty (Smash) are the newest members of the First Wives Club, TV Land's upcoming adaptation of the successful film and book.

E! News has confirmed that the two actresses have signed on to star in the pilot for the project, which is an updated twist on the 20-year-old movie (which was based on a book by Olivia Goldsmith).

The TV story takes place in San Francisco and revolves around three women who were friends and classmates (but in this updated story, they attended school in the 1990s). When a college friend dies in a freak accident, they reunite and realize they're all at a romantic crossroads. Together, they band together to tackle divorce, relationships and "life's other annoying challenges."

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Hannigan will play English professor and aspiring poet Maggie, who is "bright but frustrated" and struggling to reignite the spark in her fizzling marriage. The death of her college friend finally inspires her to make changes in her life—like leaving her husband and finding new adventures.

Hilty will play divorced, formerly successful actress Kim, who works hard at staying in shape and gorgeous after aging out of Hollywood. Now, she does cheesy commercials and hopes for a breakout role while caring for her 8-year-old son.

The big-screen adaptation starred Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn and hit theaters in 1996. The show is written by New Girl's Rebecca Addelman and is produced by Sex and the City and The Big C's Jenny Bicks.
