Forget the war of the Seven Kingdoms, there's a prank war going on in Westeros.

While it's usually all doom and gloom on-screen over at Game of Thrones, the cast and crew manage to have some fun behind-the-scenes...at each other's expense. But one prank might've been just a little too mean as showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss tricked star Alfie Allen into thinking he was being killed off the show at the end of season two, fake script and everything.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Allen revealed the joke, explaining he received the season two finale script, which ended with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) reclaiming control of Winterfell from his character Theon, saying, "This is my Winterfell, not yours." Bran then stabbed Theon in the heart.

And the crowd goes wild! Well, they would've it was true.

"I thought it was cool," Allen told the magazine of the deadly twist, adding that his bosses were a little surprised by his response to being killed off.

"I went on a holiday, and David and Dan were all thinking I was going to call up going, ‘Hold on a minute whoa-whoa-whoa!' But I just got on with it. Then they had to make it clear to me later on it was all a joke." Theon, of course, is still alive and well(ish?) on the hit drama....for now.

Come on, on a show like Game of Thrones, Benioff and Weiss couldn't have been too surprised  that an actor totally believed they were being killed off, right?

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
