Now That Nashville Is Over, What Should Connie Britton Do Next?

We have some ideas.

Are you with us, Nashville fans? This week's series finale was quite the cliffhanger, so it's understandable if you're still taking time to collect yourselves.

But you know who isn't taking a break? Connie Britton. That's because she is a badass and when one thing ends for her, another begins. For the last four years she has been the reigning queen of fictional country music, dominating our television screens as the breathtaking Rayna James, but that all came to a crashing halt this week.

Of course, we can't completely rule out the option of Nashville returning on another platform and thus gainfully re-employing Britton (after all, the finale did leave quite a cliffhanger that's just begging to be resolved), but for the moment we're going to operate under the assumption that Connie is moving on to the next one. And as we are avid, avid Connie fans who just will not stand for a world in which the actress isn't the most successful person in Hollywood, we have a few ideas for her post-Nash gig.

How Does the Nashville Finale Compare to the Best and Worst TV Finales of All Time?

A Faye Resnick Biopic. Because really, how phenomenal was her portrayal of the wacky reality star on The People v. O.J. Simpson? Audiences were literally moved to tears by nothing more than a roll of her eyes. If we were #blessed enough to bare witness to a full-fledged feature film (okay, it would probably be made-for-TV) dedicated to telling the story of Faye Resnick and nothing but Faye Resnick, just think of the cinematic wonders. The hairspray! The fake smoking! The carrot snacking! The floppy hats! We are not worthy, but we hope that Connie and Ryan Murphy will take pity on our poor, Faye-starved souls anyway.

A Guest Spot on BloodlineOtherwise known as the best Friday Night Lights reunion of all time. Her former costar and onscreen husband Kyle Chandler is straight killing it over on the Netflix drama and the only thing he's missing is his Mrs. Taylor. The show is rife with familial spats, legal drama and backdoor deals, a dark world that we think Connie is just itching to get into. Bloodline centers around a seemingly put-together family that just may have not-so-accidentally killed their own brother and tried to cover it up, so we see Connie coming in as a nosy aunt itching around for answers. The woman just knows how to burst onto a scene, ya know?

Nashville Restaurant Owner. Picture this: Connie's Home Cookin', a friendly but Pinterest-perfect farm-to-table establishment serving up piping hot biscuits and the friendliest faces this side of the Mason-Dixon line. Does she actually know how to cook? Who cares. People would line up for hours just for the chance of eating someplace with her seal of approval. And rumor has it that her son has gotten pretty comfortable down there in Tennessee, so this would be the perfect way to set down roots.

Permanent Late-Night Talk Show Guest. There is basically nothing more charming than watching Connie Britton sit in a leather chair and tell stories about...anything, really. The best part of any of her projects is getting to watch her press tours, so why can't she just cut out the middle man and go straight to the talk shows? She could just make the rounds every single night, going from Jimmy Fallon to Seth Meyers and everything in between, discussing her thoughts on the election and what she ate for breakfast that day. We'd tune in for all of it.

Wine Mogul. Drew Barrymore did it. Francis Ford Coppola did it. Even Dave Matthews Band and Train did it. Owning a celebrity wine label is definitely one of the cushiest gigs out there, and if anyone deserves some easy money it's Connie. She's been working nonstop, after all. Off the top of our heads, the name Friday Night Grapes certainly has a nice ring to it. And we know that she has that discerning taste, after all.
