Sure, Sarah Jessica Parker has reminded us time and time and time and time again that she's not actually her Sex and the City character, the one and only Carrie Bradshaw. She's not a TV character; she's a real person. We get that.
But then how come she keeps doing things that prove otherwise? It seems sometimes that Carrie and Sarah might be the same person. Why do you sit on your throne of lies, SJP?! Just kidding, you are not a liar and you are perfect and we love you.
But just saying, she has done stuff that makes it seem like she's kind of Carrie B. in real life:
1. Her love for New York City
Carrie loved her city, even when it tortured her with bad dates and getting mugged in the alley. She deemed New York her "great love" in season five, and based on the fact that Sarah has called the city her home for most of her adult life and her claim that she would never "voluntarily" leave that city, it's safe to say the actress feels the same way about the big apple.
2. The strut
Watching Sarah Jessica Parker strut in her signature heels is like watching Carrie Bradshaw own the streets of New York all over again. And speaking of those heels...
3. Her relationship with shoes
SJP will remind us all the time that she's very different from her most famous character, but she can't dare tell us that she doesn't love shoes just as much as Carrie did. She even has her own line of shoes, which would probably make Carrie cry if that had happened to her on the show.
4. This Carrie-esque outfit
5. And this one
6. And this one, too
7. Her refusal to fully embrace the latest technology
It took forever for Carrie to get her own cell phone, and when she did she refused to move beyond a simple flip phone. Plus, there was that whole situation with her finally getting AOL (she ducked down when Aidan signed online because she thought he could "see" her). So we're not surprised to see that SJP is a lot like Carrie when it comes to tech; she still owns an old-school Blackberry instead of the celeb standard issue iPhone. We don't blame her. We miss that Blackberry keyboard.
8. Her loyalty to her man
Carrie spent most Sex and the City episodes "running around New York like a crazy person, trying to get the one man I love to love me back." She loved Mr. Big fiercely, so when we see how Sarah smiles when she's with her husband of almost 20 years, Matthew Broderick, we get a sense she loves like Carrie Bradshaw loved. Fully and loyally.
Sure, Sarah Jessica Parker isn't actually the fictional character she portrayed on the HBO series, but they do manage to overlap from time to time. And since both Carrie and SJP are icons, we don't think that's a bad thing.
