ABC/Adam TaylorMaksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are about to paso doble into parenthood.
Fresh off the heels of Murgatroyd's Dancing With the Stars championship with partner Nyle DiMarco, the dance pro is expecting her first child with her fiancé, People reports.
The pair of ballroom experts, who worked together on several seasons of the hit ABC competition show, dated on and off in 2012 and 2013 before reuniting and ultimately getting engaged fittingly on a dance floor in early December 2015.
"For years I knew Peta is the one for me," Chmerkovskiy said in a statement to E! News at the time of his proposal. "She is the perfect fit with my family and she has made me a very happy man."
Now, they're about to start a family of their very own. "They have been trying for a while," a source tells E! News.
In fact, it seems babies have been on Petra's brain for months already. "I would like to start [having kids] pretty soon," Murgatroyd told People quickly after she said "Yes" to her longtime beau. "A little boy, and then a little girl."
While there's no telling quite yet what sex of the baby is, the mom and dad-to-be will certainly have their hands full this summer as Maksim gears up to join his brother, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, for their dance tour, Maks & Val: Our Way.
Though they haven't revealed any concrete wedding plans as of yet except for a possible wedding date in June 2017, Chmerkovskiy has made it clear from the start—he plans to be with Peta forever.
"I'm in love with you," he told her during his proposal speech. "I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life."
