When you do good, you feel really good.

And nobody knows that better than Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. who recently surprised a deserving fan battling cancer in San Diego, Calif.

"Today @ryanwilcox0303 got a little surprise," Gwyneth Paltrow shared on Instagram Monday afternoon. "Thank you to the incredible #chrisevans and my better work half @robertdowneyjr for being the men you both are. And thank you to the Wilcox family for your hospitality! #ryanstrong."

According to Fox 5 San Diego, Chris originally sent 18-year-old Ryan Wilcox a video message that was played during a Grossmont High School student assembly. Two weeks later, the Captain America star flew to El Cajon, Calif. to meet the cancer patient in person.

So who is this lucky fan? Gwyneth herself recently gave a shoutout to the San Diego resident on Instagram when she offered to drive her famous friends down south to meet him.

"He absolutely LOVES Captain America and the Avengers and what we want for Ryan if possible is to meet the actors and actresses of the Avengers, especially Chris Evans who plays Captain America," Gwyneth originally posted online earlier in the month. "He isn't doing too well and this would be a major way to boost his spirits and quite frankly be the best moment of his life if he literally got to meet his hero!"

She added, "Please share this to help get the attention of Chris, Robert, Scarlett, and the rest of the Avengers cast and try to make his dream come true! ‪#chrisevans #avengers #makeawish."

Safe to say everything worked out perfectly!

"Today I got to shake the hand of a true warrior named Ryan Wilcox. He's cooler than I could ever hope to be," Chris shared on Twitter. "Thanks for the hospitality Wilcox family! And a big hug and kiss to two of my favs @RobertDowneyJr and @GwynethPaltrow for making it happen!"

As for Ryan's health today, fans can follow his progress with the hashtag #RyanStrong. They can also contribute to his fight against cancer online now.
