Despite the fact that a few of the songs off her Lemonade album may have been directed toward her father, Beyoncé and Mathew Knowles reunited recently.
The mega pop star snapped a photo with her dad during the May 7 Houston concert of her Formation World Tour, which her mother, Tina Knowles, shared on Instagram. "Houston Concert proud dad!!!!" Tina wrote beside the photo of the pair, smiling from ear to ear.
Though they definitely look happy, the pic comes on the heels of Bey's latest album release and speculation that a portion of it was, in fact, inspired by Mathew and his rumored infidelity. One song was even titled "Daddy Lessons" and some of the lyrics read: "You remind me of my father, a magician/ Able to exist in two places at once/ In the tradition of men in my blood/ you come home at 3 a.m. and lie to me. What are you hiding?"
Not to mention, Bey and Mathew's relationship hasn't exactly been smooth sailing over the last few years. After Tina divorced him in 2011, Queen B severed her working relationship with him. He had managed her since her days with Girl Tyme.
But despite the message on Lemonade seeming pretty clear, E! News chatted with Mathew shortly after the album's release, and he said every lyric is up to each fan's discretion.
"You put that in context for you personally," he told us. "She's talking about you and everybody that is you, that's who she's talking about."
Overall, he couldn't help but express his pride over his daughter. "As a father I am extremely proud of Beyoncé," he shared. "I mean, Beyoncé just keeps pushing the envelope, pushing the envelope and setting an example of the whole industry."
