Peggy Carter, we already miss you.

Agent Carter has been canceled by ABC after two seasons, and we're so upset over it. Still, there is a silver lining as Hayley Atwell, who will forever be Peggy Carter to us, is staying on our TV screens, as the network picked up her drama pilot, Conviction, to series.

Attwell will star as Hayes Morrison, a lawyer and former First Daughter, who is about to accept a job offered from her sexy nemesis, NY District Attorney Wayne Wallis (Eddie Cahill), to avoid jail time for cocaine possession and avoid hurting her mother's Senate campaign. Per ABC, she will work with his team at the new Conviction Integrity Unit and use her brilliant mind to turn over cases where there is credible suspicion of wrongful conviction, which will also give her a chance to turn things around with her high-powered political family.

Did ABC Just Secretly Cancel Agent Carter?

ABC hinted at Agent Carter's cancellation during a recent episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which seemed to bring closure to Peggy's storyline. (Warning, Captain America: Civil War, spoilers ahead!) The series' latest outing had a brief mention about the passing of the beloved founding member of S.H.I.E.L.D. at the age of 95, as Peggy died during the blockbuster hit.

We also got a brief glimpse at her obituary, which updated fans with some info about her life. While her love life was very much in flux during the last two season of Agent Carter, the newspaper article read that "later in life, she would marry and have two children, who she is survived by." (It has to be Agent Sousa, right?!)

In the season two finale (which is now the series finale), Peggy and Sousa finally got together...just as Jack (Chad Michael Murray) was shot and killed, with a mysterious figure stealing a file about Peggy. Dun-dun-dun...
