Ginger Zee isn't dancing around the issue!
The Good Morning America meterologist has been wowing the Dancing With the Stars ballroom this season, becoming one of the frontrunners to win the whole competition with her professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy. And after tackling the Argentine tango on Monday night's show, earning a perfect score from the judges, Ginger tackled another challenge: addressing the giant morning talk show elephant in the room.
Michael Strahan is set to join GMA full-time in September, and there's been some controversy surrounding his departure from Live! With Kelly and Michael after execs failed to give Kelly Ripa a heads up about the big move. Still, despite the behind-the-scenes drama, Ginger told E! News' Erin Lim that Michael is "the best," and she's looking forward to him joining the GMA team on a regular basis.
"I love having him," she gushed. "We've had him obviously for a couple of years, a couple days a week. I love Michael Strahan and he's going to be a great addition and he's wonderful!"
As for who could take over for Michael on Live! after his exit this Friday, her partner Val had quite the interesting suggestion. "Look, I'm in," he told us. "Michael is going to come on Dancing With the Stars, and I could go and help out with Kelly. There you go, problem solved!" Sold!
But Val did have a bone to pick with viewers after they scored their team dance with Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold with a 9, preventing them from receiving their second perfect score of the night. And he's hoping Ginger takes it out on them during her day job.
"She's on a show called Good Morning America! She tells you good morning and when it's going to rain. You're picking out your outfit, you don't know the weather, she tells you the weather. And a nine? Wow, America, you're on your own now! She's not going to tell you nothing!"
Hey, you guys have no one to blame but yourselves when it starts raining and you're wearing flip flops.
