Can Sam and Dean stop the Darkness with a little help from the man upstairs? Maybe...not.

Supernatural finally revealed that yes, Chuck (Rob Benedict) is God, and he really needs the Winchester brothers to defeat his evil sister Amara, also known as the Darkness.

"She's relentless," he tells Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) in the exclusive clip above from this week's episode. "A force beyond human comprehension. It's the only reason I came off the sidelines."

Sam and Dean have their own reasons for wanting Amara gone, since she's currently torturing Luficer/Castiel/Misha Collins, but unfortunately other than a few encouraging words, Chuck is not going to be that much help.

"I have no frickin' idea!" he says when they ask if he knows where to find his big sis. "She's warded herself specifically against me."

Add that to Sam and Dean's precisely zero ideas as to how to defeat her and you've got yourself one big dilemma heading into the end of the season.

Of course, God's also got some very helpful shade to throw at the brothers for not exactly being dedicated churchgoers over the years, and we guess he ain't wrong.

Click play on the clip above now, and be sure to tune into the CW this Wednesday at 9 p.m. to see how it all goes down on Supernatural.
