For the second official show of her Revival World Tour, the 23-year-old songstress took the stage in Fresno among thousands of fans, including one who had future hopes for Gomez and her former beau.
"SELENA CRUMPLED UP MY SISTERS SIGN IM CRYING," a fan wrote on Twitter Sunday night. In an accompanying video, Gomez is shown pointing at the girl to hand over the sign, which read "Marry Justin Please." Gomez subsequently crumples the paper and throws it on the floor as she walks away and resumes singing.
"She didn't mention anything after. I got my paper back though. It wasn't meant to be mean," the fan told E! News. "I love Selena and Justin, and love them together as well. It was the second to the last song that it happened. She put on a great show though."
Despite fans' high hopes for the former pair, it just isn't so. Instead, Gomez has been playing the romantic field.
"I've been dating," she recently told Marie Claire. "I've been having the best time." As of late, Gomez has been linked to NYU graduate Samuel Krost and One Direction singer Niall Horan.
However, with her rocky romantic past and very bright career, Selena is not jumping into anyone's arms aimlessly.
"I don't trust anybody," she confessed to the magazine. "So dating can only be fun if I know I'm going to have fun."
Regardless of her insistence on single life, Jelena fans are fixated on getting her back together with her first love. Bieber's recent Instagram post—a throwback photo of the two kissing—just became the most liked photo on social media. To add more fuel to the romantic fire, Bieber had an "extravagant" date planned for Gomez back in March, but ended up mysteriously canceling it.
"I don't know why he didn't go through with it, and I also don't know if he ever even told Selena about his plan," the source explained to E! News. "I do know he is really obviously trying to date her again."
